Last week saw a new research park open in the Faroe Islands, set up by the Faroese Business Development Fund. It is intended to boost industry-led research and improve collaboration between businesses and the research base.

A recent Gallup poll shows that 68 per cent of Faroese people would like to see the marriage law changed to include civil marriage for homosexual couples.

The municipal council in the Faroese capital Tórshavn has approved an expansion project worth nearly 47 million Euros for the Port of Tórshavn. The work is planned to commence in the beginning of 2015 and to last for two years.
